The town of Anaconda was planned after 1882, when a rich copper vein was discovered in nearby. A giant concentrator and smelter facilities were built to refine the copper ore. Visitors can enjoy historic tours, quaint shopping, and dining with local flare.

With a wide variety of trails for the hardcore mountain biker, hundreds of miles of road over picturesque passes, and easy scenic rides there's something for every cyclist to enjoy. Suggestions: Twin Lakes Road, Georgetown Lake, Washoe Park Trails. The Anaconda Bicycle Festival is a two-day weekend of bicycle events that raise funds for the upkeep and restoration of Anaconda's Washoe Park.

Deer Lodge

Deer Lodge, Montana, is home to more museums and historical collections than any other town in the Northwest. There are 22 acres of history and nostalgia to captivate young and old alike. The Old Montana Prison including The Frontier Museum along with Desert John's Saloon Museum and the Powell County Museum will transport you back to the era of cowboys and the Old West. The Montana Auto Museum with over 120 vintage vehicles, and Yesterday's Playthings—Montana's foremost doll and toy museum, will entertain "children" of all ages. Cottonwood City displays the Snowshoe Creek School and the Blood Cabin.

Once the headquarters of a 10 million acre cattle empire, Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site is a working cattle ranch that preserves these symbols and commemorates the role of cattlemen in American history.

Fairmont Hot Springs is a year-round resort offering a waterslide and four hot spring pools. Golf and tennis are available as well as Mile High Dining Room, Springwater Cafe, and and Whiskey Joe's Lounge.
